1) Give a simple meaning of people's rights.
2) Give some examples of their basic rights.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Posters, Charts, and Pictures on the right of the Child.

STEP 1 INTRODUCTION |
The teacher composes a rhyme on the child's right and then allows the pupils to sing with her, as a method of introducing the topic to them. The teacher explains that Rights are something that a person has legal or moral power to have, get or do. |

STEP 2 EXPLANATION |
The teacher further explains to them, that as a citizen of Nigeria, there are some basic rights that they have. |

Using the Poster, Charts, and Pictures of Children's Rights, the teacher tends to list the basic Rights of a child to the pupils: · The Right to freedom of speech. · The Right to be protected from harm and abuse. · The Right to health. · The Right to education · The Right to play and recreation. |
