TOPIC: Colouring Functional art works
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupil should be able to
1) Enumerate Several functional artworks in/outside the classroom e.g mat, pot, basket, chair, etc
2) Draw at least three functional artworks
3) Apply suitable colours on the object drawn
INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playword, method, questions and answers, demonstration.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL: Audio visual resources: Diagram showing real functional art works, pencils crayon, drawing etc.

STEP 1 INTRODUCTION |
The Teacher revise last term works. She defines Functional art work as art created for use, designed to serve a purpose and with beauty considered when creating it. |

She explains that art that serve a function, but is also designed artistically for purpose of displaying beauty is refer to as functional art. She gives examples of functional art |

She uses drawing paper, drawing sheet, water colour or crayon, pencil, eraser to guide the pupil on how to draw a beautiful image of their choice and how to use a brush to carefully apply paint to the image drawn. |
